Well-Screened Internet Marketing Tools for You

The huge number of Internet Marketing eBooks, courses and tools is enough to make your head spin.

That's why I created Pickaguru.net, to help you find what's out there and to help you see, in a nutshell what it is all about.

My top recommendation of all Internet Marketing products is Site Build It by Dr. Ken Evoy. You can read my reasons and a synposis here.

I'll only list those products that are well-established, respected products, generally recognized by the top marketers and consumers alike as worthwhile products.

I'll avoid products that are too on-the-edge of the get-rich-quick feel. I want you to succeed, and worthless junk will only cause failure, and give me a bad reputation at the same time.

In fact, I'm so dedicated to your success that I will stand behind you with any battles you have with the sellers. If you are not happy with any purchases made through my site I will help you. I will advise you, help you find contact and refund information. I will write to the sellers on your behalf if need be. I can't guarantee satisfactory resolution from every seller, but experience has shown me that intervention from the referring Web owner often gets attention that individual customers can't get by themselves.

I'll be adding products and tools regularly as I have a chance, and will highlight favorites and new items.

How do you make money on the Internet?

I get this question all the time. In fact nearly every day. "How can I break into Internet marketing and make money."

Of course I can't give you a complete course in this short space, but I'll outline some of the basics here and now.

1. You must either have a product or find affiliate products to represent. In fact selling affiliate products is the easiest way for newbies to enter this market and see some money coming in early on. It's easier to expand into your own products later after you have some experience. Many people start with Clickbank to find affiliate products. That's where I started and I continue to get checks from them every month.

2. You must have some basic communication skills. Seriously, I get email from people who can't construct a basic sentence. The Internet is a communication medium, like radio, TV, magazines, newspapers, and books. If you can't write in a professional manner then please do yourself a favor and don't try to make your living in a communication field.

3. You need some technical skills. The "paper" on which you write on the Internet is the computer. By nature it is a technical machine. I often get email from people who say they have little to no technical computer or web-writing skills but want to make their living in Internet marketing. I'm at a loss how to tell them in a nice way that they will have to learn to write HTML, upload scripts, make forms, and so forth. At the very least they can hire out, but it will cost, and you'll have to know enough to be able to ask the right questions and direct the programmer. Also, please avoid the cookie-cutter Web pages some systems offer. Individual pages is the only way to do well in this field.

4. You'll almost certainly need a domain and a Web host. There are a few methods (such as Search Engine Marketing) that do not require a Web site, but most Internet marketing models require a domain and host. I've used numerous hosts and I've chosen two as my all-time top favorites. Site Build It is designed for marketers and has everything you can think of for success, but is not as conventional. Hostmonster is a more conventional lower-cost alternative, but does an excellent job of support, uptime and all the trimmings.

5. You'll need some software to design and edit your Web page. I recommend Dreamweaver. It's the one I use. There is one specifically designed for Web marketers called Xsite Pro, which has some very nice features and is simple to use.

6. You must develop a businesspersons mindset and be willing to stick to your business with incredible tenacity. I don't care what the experts tell you, they are some of the busiest people on earth and that's one reason they make it. They don't do it through some "automated" system. It's very hard work.

7. You must be ready to study and learn. The skills of Internet selling are not natural skills. Every day I have another Aha! experience with a new technique. The courses, software and programs you find in these pages are invaluable, but you must get your hands on some of them and USE them every day. I'd be neglecting my duty if I didn't tell you about this huge 1500+ page free course with absolutely no strings: Make Your Site Sell by Ken Evoy.

8. You must stay focused. The biggest problem every newcomer has is always information overload. As soon as the current methods begins to look harder than one baragined for the more tempting it is to rush off to something else, something easier. This is often called the ready-aim-ready-aim-ready-aim syndrome.

So those are the basics. The rest I'll leave up to the fine teachers I'll be representing on this site. I hope you'll come often and review the new listings as well as browse around from time to time.

Best wishes and God bless,

Roger Zimmerman
