Using Site Built It
Putting the CTPM model into a Web site involves three parts, Design, Construction and Hosting.
Design is the tough part for many people. You can either pay somebody to do it for you, use a template, or design it yourself.
When you hire out your Website design you risk the designer not understanding the marketing principles that result in sales. The easiest way to do it is to use a template.
Site Build It has a number of templates optimized for sales and marketing already in place.
Construction is the next big hurdle, and the most technical. This is where you translate the C of CTPM into the content on your page that will draw traffic.
Site Build It has two methods of building your pages. You can add content through the modular building blocks in the Site Build It interface, which automatically drop into the template you choose, or you can use an outside editor such as Dreamweaver, Frontpage, or Expression Web. This is the method I use on Pickaguru, and it imports to Site Build It flawlessly.
Hosting is where you find a server that meets the requirements of high volume, lightning fast data transfer.
You can find somewhat adequate service for $40-$50/month. You can find slower service for bargain basement prices of say $10/month, but they are usually not fast servers and can be unreliable, with lots of down time. A really fast server will cost much higher, over $ 200/month for high-end service similar to that you get from Site Build It for $299/year (Now available on a $25 monthly plan as of December 2008).
For what you get, this is really rock bottom bargain pricing! Their speed and reliability is excellent. I have not lost a single second of online coverage in 5 years of service. I have other sites using other hosts that also do an ok job (even though they do experience down time here and there).
